Exploring the tempo of species diversification in Astragalus section Incani DC. based on nuclear and plastid DNA sequences

چکیده

This study uses phylogenetic relationships of the species-rich section Astragalus (Incani), to follow up on recent evidence pointing rapid and plant diversification patterns in west Iran. Section Incani is introduced for its taxonomic complication resulting from overlapping morphological characters, but few studies have been done this section; hence, we also lack a robust time-calibrated chronogram address hypotheses (e.g., biogeography rates) that implicit time assumptions. Two loci (rpl32-trnL(UAG) nrDNA ITS) were amplified sequenced 87 taxa across reconstruction BEAST. identified as sister clade all remaining sections with high support, within Incani, two strongly supported groups are seen: (1) Clade I includes nine species restricted eastern Iran Central Asia, (2) II bulk northwestern Iran, Turkey southern Europe. Divergence estimates suggest diverged 3 Mya during late Pliocene. The crown date estimated at 1.5 (Pleistocene). Biogeography showed significant improvement likelihood score when ??jump dispersal? parameter was added. An origin (Central Asia) implicated important ancestral area deeper nodes. BAMM analyses indicate best configuration included one shift rates Incani: near (1.5-2 Mya) including II. Issues conducting more generally examined context scale, taxon sampling, larger sets trees.

The Phylogeny of Calligonum and Pteropyrum (Polygonaceae) Based on Nuclear Ribosomal DNA ITS and Chloroplast trnL-F Sequences

This study represents phylogenetic analyses of two woody polygonaceous genera Calligonum and Pteropyrum using both chloroplast fragment (trnL-F) and the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (nrDNA ITS) sequence data. All inferred phylogenies using parsimony and Bayesian methods showed that Calligonum and Pteropyrum are both monophyletic and closely related taxa. They have no affinity w...

the comparative impact of prompts and recasts in processing instruction versus meaningful output-based instruction on efl learners’ writing accuracy

the purpose of the present study was to see which one of the two instruction-processing instruction (pi) and meaningful output based instruction (mobi) accompanied with prompt and recast- is more effective on efl learners’ writing accuracy. in order to homogenize the participants in term of language proficiency a preliminary english test (pet) was administrated between 74 intermediate students ...

Molecular dating of the diversification of Phyllostominae bats based on nuclear and mitochondrial DNA sequences.

Times of divergence among the three tribes included within the subfamily Phyllostominae were estimated using a Bayesian approach to infer dates of divergence based on mitochondrial and nuclear sequence data. The subfamily Phyllostominae is particularly attractive for such analysis, as it is one of the few groups of bats to have fossil specimens. Our molecular time analyses suggest that diversif...

A phylogenetic study of Laeliinae (Orchidaceae) based on combined nuclear and plastid DNA sequences.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Laeliinae are a neotropical orchid subtribe with approx. 1500 species in 50 genera. In this study, an attempt is made to assess generic alliances based on molecular phylogenetic analysis of DNA sequence data. METHODS Six DNA datasets were gathered: plastid trnL intron, trnL-F spacer, matK gene and trnK introns upstream and dowstream from matK and nuclear ITS rDNA. Data wer...

Molecular phylogeny and habitat diversification of the genus Farfugium (Asteraceae) based on nuclear rDNA and plastid DNA.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Farfugium (Asteraceae) is a small genus that contains the two species F. japonicum and F. hiberniflorum and is distributed along a long archipelago in east Asia. The common taxon, F. japonicum, includes three varieties associated with a wide range of habitats, including forest understorey (sciophytes), coastal crag (heliophytes) and riverbed (rheophytes). Leaf shape is an im...
